La Quinta Resort & Club / PGA West

There aren’t many golf destinations where you can find nine golf courses, all in one package. La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA WEST accomplish that like no other. Truly a golfer’s paradise, it boasts a 2,000-acre golf and lifestyle community right in the heart of La Quinta. Added to the amazing golf are seven onsite dining options, recreational venues and numerous residential and vacation opportunities. Some choose to visit for the golf experience; others chose to make this location their home or their vacation getaway. While membership is available, golf is available to non-members as well.

When golfers think of PGA WEST, it is the Stadium Course that first comes to mind. Recently rated one of the “Top 100 Courses to Play” by GOLF Magazine, it may be one of the most challenging, exciting courses you’ll play. Designer Pete Dye said of his course, “Golf is not a fair game, so why build a course fair?” Still, with five sets of tees, the Stadium lures all skill levels.\

PGA WEST’s other five courses showcases the talents of world-renown designers when it come to golf: Tom Weiskopf, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Greg Norman all grace the grounds with their amazing designs. That makes for an unparalleled golf experience in a magnificent desert setting.

The golf courses at PGA WEST have taken a proactive approach towards better environmental stewardship. In fact, all six courses have received certification with the Audubon International’s Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses for these efforts in sustainability.

La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria resort, adds three more golf courses to the mix, bringing the total to nine. The La Quinta Resort Mountain Course and Dunes Course are both open to the public, and the Citrus Course is private. The Mountain Course, nestled at the base of the picturesque Santa Rosa Mountains, is famed for its Pete Dye design, playability and stunning visuals. This ultra-challenging course features pot bunkers, rock formations, elevations of tee boxes and well-bunkered greens. The Dunes Course, also designed by Pete Dye, offers traditional rolling-links style golf with Scottish and Irish flair, characterized by rolling mounds, manicured fairways and thick rough. Length, strength and finesse are key to scoring well on this course, which has hosted the PGA Club Professional Championship, and the Californian State Open. La Quinta Resort & Club offers a luxury vacation experience with casitas, suites and villas to choose from. Guests also enjoy world-class tennis, a full spa as well as a salon, seven unique restaurants, and 41 climate-controlled pools. The options available at La Quinta Resort & Club are numerous, with something for everyone.
